SCAM - Told them to take a number off the list as the person has a memory dissorder. Have called daily after that, telling it is the first time they call. Different numbers, but same person called back right after from this number. She called from RCN Investments and if that is true, that she called because the person wrote her number at THEIR webpage- then they have sold the number to several other companies, because the phone is calling several times a day after the day she register on a web-page.
Seems dodgy because they pretend to be your supplier in order to get your meter readings but they do in fact work for just most if not all of the major energy suppliers and are totally legit

SCAM Claimed I was owed a ppi payment for £3000 had my name address and date of birth but then said to recieve it I had to take out a life insurance policy to prove I was the person owed the money. Blatant lie, you do not need to take out insurance to prove your identity.

The person on the other end told me they were ringing to review my mortgage. When I told her I was uncomfortable discussing it over the phone, she got aggressive and rude. She told me my husband had requested a callback which I knew was a lie because he doesn t deal with this stuff over the net or phone!! when I said that he wouldn t have requested a callback she was really abusive and before she could hang up I told her how rude she was!! This number rung me and was silent, so I hung up and blocked the number.
Fraud - Yet another call, clearly from some contact/scamming centre in India. When I answered they simply hung up. This is the 3rd such call in the last two days and quite frankly I'm getting a little sick of it. This is a new line and only one person has this number, we literally never use it, so unless that one person who does have the number is calling I can almost guarantee its a scam of some sort. Be aware, tell them nothing give them no information.

My 81 year old father was tricked into setting up a direct debit for his 4 year old Indecit. (June 2016)He realised the day after he was covered by another policy, so he cancelled the direct debit at the bank and wrote a letter to Appliance Serve as well as calling them by phone. A man said no problem he would sort it. July 2016 - he is getting reminders about a missed payment and a telephone call threatening court action! Bring it on!! #fraudsters
