This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported, all the same range just with last digits different. A common thing - telemarketing mostly uses a range of similar numbers. This one is mostly reported with PPI, insurance marketing, RTA - accident chasers, sometimes called themselves "First Call Group" - just another big call centre. Just block it or block the range, I have been using the mobile application from these pages, works fine, no problems. Blocked

Let it ring then waited for it to go to Answer machine which it did not - anyone worth their salt will leave a message. Called the number back and got an 'incorrect number' message so suspect it is nuisance or telemarketing. Now blocked.

Rang four times a day for the last few days. Rang the number back after coming up clear on google. Got automated message saying I was rang by 1st Call Group. The number is a Manchester number but based in South Africa, which is suspicious to start with. Looking at their client list on their website, includes many PPI companies, Ambulance chasers, and other undesirables.

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I recommend to block the whole 8438727xxx range... People did someone answer this number?

This number has been phoning my mobile over the past few weeks and asking for Valerie Pritchard - THIS IS NOT ME. I have told them politely that it is not her mobile number. Today I asked the young man what company he was phoning from - he put the phone down. Five minutes later another man accused me of lying - saying I know it's you Valerie. lets get down to talking business. Apparently they are a Financial Repayment. He was extremely rude to me. just received a letter from the DWP requesting bank details so they can pay my pension into it instead of the post office.if this is a scam, it's a b****y clever, very convincing one. it was accompanied by a letter in the same post from the post office telling me I could close my card account with them free of penalty, though it's not the type of a/c that incurs penalties. the letter even quotes my national insurance number at the top. very clever of two big organisations to hit the same postal delivery tog
