Stating they are the credit investigation department, a UK government department. When questioned further, the caller revealed they were an independent company doing promotional calls.
The guy said he was from Ecosave Power, which, having read the above, was true. However, he then asked if I had received my renewal paperwork, so I asked if he could tell me who my energy supplier was (I have recently changed suppliers, so would not be expecting any renewal paperwork yet). He said he would call me back - I said no, I can hold on, so he hung up. If that s not suspicious, what is?!

I can see why this has received negative feedback, after you get past the first idiot whose only job is to get money no matter what you will get transferred to BT, I made them aware of the situation which will go through to their customer support. English girl asked if I d been in an accident, when I said yes, she put me through to her supervisor who was clearly outside of the UK. She asked if I had got the name of the person that hit me. When I suggested that it was her that had hit me she hung up.
Called 5 times between 2pm and 6pm - answered 4th call (they knew may name) and told them not interested in solar panels and having my tea, put phone down. Less than 2 mins lat...
