on 22 june the above number 0161 8735544 rang my son and said that an amount of ?1500.00 was waiting to be claimed fir whiplash for a accident he had in 2009 foulishly he gave them details including his mobile phone number and said they will ring him on monday 25th june to follow this up. Paypal scam - posing as a Gumtree buyer . He/she will reply to anything you have for sale on gumtree. They send you a text but then ask you to reply to a moody email address. The one they gave me was [email?protected] and the number they used was +44 141 280 7229. Clearly foreign (poor use of English) and also clearly retarded - lack of understanding of gramma and spelling. Stay well away.

Text message received from Sants fraud asking me if I had made a pmt of 33458.64 to a Ali Afza? if not to call fraud on the number and not to reply by text. Luckily I worked for Santander so knew it was a scam but it is very convincing.

Male caller rang from this number at lunchtime today. A bit of a waffle introduction, but eventually got round to the subject - an invitation to a free financial seminar (apparently people are really interested in it because of low interest rates). But he declined any request to put his information pack in the post to me. Pretty sure its a scam that should be avoided.

Scam text purporting to be from British Gas saying they have made an appointment for me. I did not respond but then had several texts on the day they said the appt had been made saying they were on their way but might be late! No-one turned up I'm pleased to say. I didn't click any links so don't know what the scam is about - probably an information phishing expeditiion - but it is very clever and needs to be exposed.

They call me constantly, sometimes hanging up straight away other times if I answer its about PPI. I now play around with them. My record is 25 mins waiting for me to find fictitious paperwork... they hang up... I know people dont have time to mess around but i work nights so i quite enjoy it. JUST DON T ANSWER IF YOU DONT WANT TO PLAY WITH THEM.

Fraud I keep getting calls from this number. It is an automated voice that says it is from BT and then proceeds to tell me they have been trying to get in contact and that if I don't respond my phone line will be disconnected. It's obviously a scam as I'm not even with BT. This has been happening for the past week and occurs several times a day.

02 Dec 2021 - called repeatedly - using terms such as my friend or my lover. Lots of call centre noise in the back ground, all saying different things to different callers. Never found out what they wanted. Asked them to remove me from their data base three times. Reply

Calls are at least - being stopped by Call Guardian which is built into the phone. So, the phone rings once, the Guardian kicks in and asks for the caller s identity. However, since this has never been given (and any such call is then terminated by Guardian), we assume they coming from an automated system. We just wish the system would give up on us!
