Call from a company claiming to be Securemyhome.com. dissolved according to Companies House. Refused to give name, but told me I was entitled to a refund off my Insurance, wanted Account Details to refund. Gave duff details.

My 81 year old father was targeted and asked to insure his 4 year old Indesit washing machine. Unwittingly he set up a d.debit which he cancelled the next day, with the bank, when he realised he already had cover. He rang Appliance Serve and told them too, he was asked to put it in writing which he did. He is now getting calls about his non payment and they are threateneing court action as they said they hadn t received a phone call or letter. Total fraudsters targeting the elderly. #scammers

Phoned about a car part. This company sent a quote twice about a car part after using 247carspares.co.uk They passed me from dept to dept and in the end said the part was no longer available. Beware of numbers starting with 070 premium rate.
The exact number was 01340 831714. After searching it here, I called the number back. It has a BT call screener on it. A Scottish sounding older lady picked up the phone. I told her my name and said I'd had a missed call from her number at 7:47am this morning (3-3-23). Her reply? "No, not me, no you haven't" and then she put the phone down. With a call that early in the morning, I thought my son had been in a car accident or something :-(. Very unhelpful and distressing. No idea what's been going

Don't phone this number back. This is complete rubbish. If there was a genuine case against you in terms of any owed tax, HMRC would not get a computer generated voice to leave a threatening message.

I asked them how could they know I had had an accident when they didn t even know who was calling them at this moment (hadn t given my name!). They hung up on me!
