SCAM - Seems to be a call centre as noisy line. Tried to obtain bank details etc under false pretences, alleging an engineer from BT has detected problems on my home landline and that without rectification I could incur £+ costs but if remedial action is taken quickly charges may be reduced. I asked for their engineer and departmental details but got nowhere so advised would call BT myself and the caller rang off. One for OfCom and other authorities.

Automated phone call telling me that there was unusual internet activity on my internet connection and I was about to be disconnected. To Press 1 to speak to an advisor, This comes on a day when my internet provider had informed me that they would be doing service upgrades in the area.
Phoned my child, apparently got to know her first name. Can only think it is spam or scam. Tried to call them back to determine who they were. Never answered phone would ring for almost 60 seconds then be cut off.
When phoned back it was a company claiming that I had had a road traffic accident!

This was the first call from Hardy Evans Ltd. I got a name by trying to call back the number 01792764634 as I assumed that it might have been from one of job agancies. Wrong move. This is updating a previous comment I made. The number is definitely Social Services but you cannot return the call to this number directly as it seems to be a main switchboard and is constantly engaged - you need to have the extension for the person who contacts you. If you don t have an answerphone then you will have to answer the call to find out who exactly is calling and for what reason.
