They just phoned my elderly father-in-law on his land line and luckily my husband had just arrived at the house when they phoned. They told him that they were the National Crime Agency and that there had been fraud on his bank account. They said that he needed to transfer ?11,000 from another account to sort out the problem and he would give the details of the account that he needed to transfer the money to. receive at least 1 call per week form this number while i m at work and phone in car, have tried ringing back but never get an answer, no message ever left either

On second reading - definitely - it is one digit short to be a genuine UK number.

Didn t leave explanation as to why but told to ring the number and press opt one. Could still have been spam but it was the North Wales Hospital Board General Appointments Centre trying to contact me to book a test.

Keeps on calling me even though I m not answering. No voicemail left. I answered once and could hear noise like a call centre. It s really annoying now and I blocked but they phoned from another number which is similar with just digits at the end different.

Call from this number followed a spam text from a claims management company (I responded to the text to try to find out who sent it). Wouldn t identify the company or admit that the text was spam, but claimed it had been sent as a result of a mistake on their database.
