Person with an Asian accent (after a delay) introducing himself as Peter Thompson purporting to be from BT claimed someone in America was using my IP address and accessing emails . Asked what devices I was using to access the internet. The scammer wasn t afraid to argue back aggressively when I told him in no uncertain terms I knew this was an attempt to hack in to the internet.
Called me at least 20 times not answered any will now report the number to ofcom
Who is this company? would you please let me know before i ring back.

Pretending to be from Virgin Media Cyber security department, informing me that there is someone in California using my IP address for illegal purposes, but he would help me sort it out. Refused to tell me the name on the account or the account number because it was a recorded call, having told me it was a secure line and that he would "prove" to me that he was from Virgin if I gave him the information he asked for.

Guys & gals. DO YOURSELVES A HUGE FAVOUR!!! If they are ringing your mobile phone, Do you have a smartphone or iPhone? Search for an app on your app store called "Blacklist" (There s a few to choose from) It s free and I use it to block all of these nuisance calls and texts. These app s are great, Once you get a nuisance call/text, all you do is click onto the app, browse by call log and tap on the call you want blocked and that s it! They can t bother you again! I tried to call it back, but the telephone operator told me that the number was incorrect. I think it'a a fraud, because yesteday I received another unexpected phone call from the UK from this other number: +44 2076202720
01892710579 -Claimed to be my local energy advisor and that I was responsible for the bills. They called my work number which I do not give out to businesses, also the classic pause before he introduced himself which is a sign they are using automated calling software, illegal in the UK.

It says this is Clearanswer, a marketing company and one of BTs partners.....comments from the general public seem to suggest otherwise. A very foreign voice suggested my BT contract was coming to an end. I don’t discuss new contracts with a cold caller. When I said it wasn’t due to be renegotiated she hung up...not the sort of thing a genuine person would do.
