They trade under a variety of "banking names" including Cheltenham and Gloucester, Midland & West, Sainsburys Bank, etc. Although you may not have a bank account with them you may have a store card or credit card, loan, etc which is funded by them. However, if you are unsure about this caller then do not give them any information as they will eventually write to you. Phone calls are cheaper than postage, hence the use of that contact method initially.
