Fraud - male caller claimed to be from credit card company MBNA. He claimed that there were unsual transaction on my credit card this morning. He hung up immediately when I said that I had cancelled the card.

This is a Credit / Debit Card Protection Insurer number, cost me about 20 pence a minute, rang to cancel policy but had high call volume, so wrote by letter and last Direct Debit refunded.
I received a call from this number on 8.12.20 claiming to be from BT to report an internet problem. It turned out to be a scam aimed at accessing my personal and bank details.

Got a call today from some guy asking for me by name (which I didn t acknowledge - I never do.) I immediately asked who was calling to throw him off his spiel, unfortunately he mumbled his "company" which sounded like s&l legal? and immediately launched into his sales patter regarding the mis-selling of PPI. I let him ramble on for a few then interrupted him by saying I worked in the banking industry and could run rings round him with regards this. The person calling said they were from Carphone Warehouse and wanted to talk to me about upgrading my phone (but didn't seem to know what model phone I had, plus this mobile isn't with Carphone Warehouse), but the number is showing up online as belonging to a newsagent in Daventry so be cautious as I'm not sure it's legit...

Just had a call from this number, saying they were from the Debt Support Group and that I was due to reduce my outstanding payments on my debt!! When I told them that they were incorrect as I had no debt and I asked where they got my details from, they put the phone down. It really annoys me that these people have not got the decency to tell you where they received the information and give you the chance to ask them to remove your details from their database. Grrrrr!!!!
