TAXES / HMRC scam. Recorded voice threatens arrest if you don’t press 1 to be connected to them. Obviously a scam and potentially dangerous to any vulnerable people.
This call was preceeded by a call to my 88 year old mother telling her that her landline was going to be cut off. She was worried of course, and I can t help thinking that a follow up call by EE to discuss broadband is suspiciously linked to frightening her into starting a dialogue with them.

No message is left, and when I dialled the number from a landline to check caller's identity, a prerecorded message kicked in, advising that 'all agents are busy just now' and inviting me to leave my phone number for a call back.
