was called, supposedly, from HMRC and that I am about being accused for tax fraud and to press 1 to talk to an agent, otherwise I'd be arrested. Upon pressing 1 it directed me to a call centre where the accent of the recorded voice switched from British to American. Hung up right away

Someone has been calling me from this phone and several other numbers similar to this, the person keeping telling me about earning extra income. I have done many things to dissuade them from calling to no avail. I have even insulted them, still they wont stop.

Didn t leave explanation as to why but told to ring the number and press opt one. Could still have been spam but it was the North Wales Hospital Board General Appointments Centre trying to contact me to book a test.
Probably a scam. I got a text to call urgently but didn't say why.
Calls up to 3 times a day every day - then a break of a week and starts again. Automated message for unknown person. Press 2 to confirm I am not the person named - but the message says pass a message on to the person that I do not know. Calls have come early morning and evening. In desperation bought a call blocking phone. They are still trying to get through but at least I am not disturbed by them any more. But an expensive solution.

Very Heavily accented caller on a poor line which I suspect originated overseas. This is a scam. If your card is stolen and HSBC calls you, they wouldn t ask you to call back. I received a call from this number AFTER I cancelled my card. I terminated the call when I realised it was a scan. I didn t call back and didn t receive another call. A genuine fraud department would call again.
