Claimed to be from an insurance company wanting to renew an annual policy with a discount . I didn't recognise the details of this policy and I became suspicious when they asked for my bank details . When I refused to give these the called became irritated and annoyed so I said that I was not giving out anything over the telephone . Received several more calls which I ignored . Foreign sounding guy rang trying to tell me I needed to change life assurance cover because of new government legislation. When I told him I worked for a financial advisor who handed all my financial needs he persisted to argue with me, after telling him three times I was not interested and to take my name off his list I ended up hanging up on him. Annoying argumentative man.

Often early in the morning and in close succession, there is silence, giggling, but no communication - very disconcerting for them. I answered the phone and was about to hang up after a long silence when an Asian lady asked to speak to me. When I asked her what she wanted, she replied that she wanted me to stop speaking. This number is a legitimate business - Home Shield Direct. They sell insurance for various white goods. I have cooker, washing machine and fridge/freezer covered. Had them out to fix all three appliances at various times and service was excellent. So absolutely NOT a scam.
