Today, the american accented voice was identified as 'Shirley' professing to be from our internet provider and saying that our computer had been 'compromised' from various countries and they needed to access our router to 'sort the problem'. At that point I ended the call and added the number to our list of blocked callers.

As others have said, went with Boots as they normally have good customer service, but for this they should be ashamed of themselves & disassociate themselves from this company/practice. Suspect it's Cognism or similar checking they have the correct mobile numbers for contacts they're selling. Ask for you by first name, then when you say it's you, they say a random surname and then claim they must have a wrong number.
