Silent call - just goes dead. I am getting a number of these calls from London numbers - I never speak first so obviously aren't activating the voice activated scam.
Called from 01245 407320 Unsolicited call from these cowboys today ( 25 Oct 2014). Despite my number being on the TPS, they asked for me by name. My wife wouldn t put the call thru to me until they confirmed what they wanted to ask me about. The caller refused to confirm this, so wifey hung up on them. Pre-recorded message claiming to be from bank saying there had been two suspicious transactions and giving options to press 1 or 2, depending on what response mine was. Voice was good RP English. Investigations and trackers located source to the Khram Pokrova Presbytery at Bogoroditsy in the New Soviet Union (Russian Federation) Republic of Mordovia.
SCAM - Told me (in appalling English) he was from support and was ringing about my computer. I asked what company he was calling from and he didn't seem to know! I told him his attempt at scamming was utterly pathetic and to sod off.
