I was almost caught completely with this scam. I have been having problems with my internet speeds recently so believed them. Stupidly I did some of the things they asked me to check the speeds. Got suspicious when they asked me to submit me internet details in order to get the compensation that they claim I was owed. Also my mouse pointer started moving of own accord, which gave suspicion that they had control of my computer. I have changed some passwords as a precaution but thankfully they were not succes

Had a call from this number about 20 minutes ago saying HMRC has a case against me and to press 1 to speak to my case officer. Pressed 1 and the line was noisy so said hello but no response. This line should belong to some company, but no remark on internet about it. Haven't found any info for this one, does anyone have some experience with this number? Be aware if this number calls, it is for a shared costs, so better not to call back. Have checked also different formats of this number, but no luck - similar numbers are reported with insurance marketing and financial services. As people do search for this number, it should be used, so be aware.
