You receive a genuine text message from O2 with a security code. They try to convince you that's the 'discount activation code' and ask you to give it to them, presumably to hack your account while on the phone to you. Do not give them anything! Fraud

Fraud Claim to be HMRC and you will go to jail!
SCAM Sent SMS including a link. Said I had missing census information and not updating this may result in £1000 fine. Said for me to click the link to update information to avoid having to pay any fines in future. I clicked the link but phone detected the link as unsafe and sent me a full red screen reading: “DECEPTIVE WEBSITE DETECTED” and gave me a choice to proceed or to go back to previous page. Don’t be fooled like I was! You may not be so lucky as to dodge the negative consequences like I was!
Fraud To be clear, the number was 012067424358 This was an automated machine voice recording pretending to be from Amazon. Criminals trying to steal your personal info and money. Do not press 1 as the recording suggests, hang up and report the call to the official complaint website ico.org.uk
Fraud An automated voicemail claiming they were from HMRC and investigating a claim and if I didn't essentially call back I would be arrested. Laughable at best. Don't pickup or call back! Another family member received a similar call and message a few days ago. Block and warn others.
