The guy on the phone told me he worked for BT technical services and that I had been hacked. He wanted me to go online and download something. I hung up, phoned BT and asked BT if they tried ro phone me, they confirms they hadn't.

Further to my earlier post this caller also seems to use this number with additional prefixes - 00144 - and dropping the first 0 , presumably trying to bamboozle the system or the receiver! Still refuses to leave a message.!!
Said he was from a technology company....called me by name....I have had a series of these calls..telling me I have a problem with my laptop....I said no thanks you and hung up....think it is part of a scam wanting to access my computer and all the data...
SCAM told me I'd authorized a payment through a bank I don't have an account with. Do not click the link, it is used to gather your details to sell onto other scammers
