Someone texted me with this number claiming to have a job. When I showed interest, they asked to do a background check that would of cost £7. It was clearly a scam so I blocked the number.

It Was Senr To My Mobile At 7am So It’s Little Early To Deliver Any Parcels. Please Watch Out, These People Should Be Locked Up. If You’re The Scammers, Think Of The Innocent People Who’s Living Hand To Mouth, Day By Day. Some Elderly People Could Get Poorly Or It Could Be Fatal To Them. Enough Of Disgusting Practices To Line You’re Pockets.

Seems to be used for some really wide-scope telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1183280xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with very sophisticated robocalls, sometimes classical RTA - ''you have been in a car accident'', sometimes Microsoft support - general computer support, in most cases unsolicited. This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with EE, but they ask for your credit card or account details, this is a scam call... Block the number.
