My Pixel phone flashed red for scam call so I didn't answer. Checked the no. on this site & am grateful to previous contributors. The no. is now blocked.

Claimed to be phoning in respect of an accident 2 years ago. When asked which company they were he said he was not calling from a company but from the Claims Team that works with a lot of insurers. Asked him who paid his wages. Eventually he hung up. Scam from top to bottom.

Received call from Indian sounding male, call centre environment. Said other people had been using my router. He did NOT ask to confirm my name address, account etc. I asked him many questions as I new it was a scam. He asked me to go to my computer. He said he could not send me an email to confirm who he was so I asked him to call back in half an hour whilst I ring BT to clarify who he is, he quickly put the phone down. Caller claimed I had a problem with malware on my PC and he would guide me through the repair of it. He asked me to turn on my computer and when I told him no, he got aggressive, told me my PC would screw up and then hung up.

This number called me again, of course when I was busy. The familiar recorded voice said they had tried to contact me before on a number of occasions about compensation. Yes they had. Female called saying she was calling about an accident I had reported. I said I hadn t reported an accident and asked where she got the information from. She said she wasn t at liberty to say, then rudely went off on one, ending with it was my fault for not opting out, before slamming the phone down. Opting out of what..? Have blocked caller.

It's a company called First Contact by Utilita. I was called on my mobile and they hung up. A return call revealed they were a call centre and I have now blocked the number.

southayrshire council called today from this number to arrange wheelie bin collection due to them missing it. all is well.
