I ve been getting several calls a day not just from this number, but from others, too - or sometimes they come up as "unavailable" or "international". All of them are from people with an Indian accent saying that they are calling to fix a problem with my PC and quickly become very rude when questioned. Fraud. The female caller (with a strange accent) said she representing Star Financial Services in the USA, and claimed they are currently engaged in a hostile takeover of Prudential Plc. so they wanted to buy my shares but first needed me to sign a non-disclosure agreement. They wanted my email address to send the documents. I said no, even tho they had my correct name and home phone number. I googled the company and they only have 5 employees and a non-phone number listed on BBB in the US.
Had a call from this number yesterday. At the other end of the phone was a robotic recorded voice allegedly calling from HMRC to say that I had carried out fraudulent activity and that a warrant would be issued for my arrest unless I pressed 1 and followed the instructions. These people need to be hunted down and hung up by their dangly bits in my opinion. Real scumbags preying on the vulnerable!
