Had a feeling this was ADT, haven t confirmed it but the comments seem to strongly indicate ADT. On top of the 0161 code. Just rang now at 3.19 in the morning, about five to six rings before I d even got to it, and then stopped. Alarm not going off, and it is for our house so would like to know why they rang in the wee hours when we re sleeping.

Someone called Katey rang. She claimed she was calling from a company called Switch safer. She asked if my gas appliances were insured. I told her she was breaking the law by phoning me, as I was a member of TPS (telephone preference service. She said she had a filtering device that filtered out TPS members. She then asked if I had paid a £5 to TPS, because If I had not, she was within the law to phone me. TPS later told me that this was rubbish. There is no £5 charge. I usually find if it stops ringing after 4 or 5 rings it s a cold caller.
