Fraud - some indian call centre where there is a delay to connect. They were crank calling me all morning. Claim to be from sky and someone is trying to access my internet. Tried to get me to log on to some site and I know it was dodgy so hung up but they keep calling.

SCAM. They will not take no for an answer and will keep calling back and texting if you hang up. I've had to block the number. How are cold callers allowed to operate like this? Are there no laws for this?

This is PayPal call centre, very unhelpful, keep you holding on for minutes. Don't use unless you are desperate.

Text says it is re-verifying phone# from this device learn more at goo.gl(followed by numbers in the link etc) so I've blocked it. Not had anything like and I don't know why google would want to verify my android. Believe it to be scam as others have said below.

A scam text supposedly from HSBC with a link... avoid

This American male calls night after night to a business number and asks for a service that they offer, but then states that their situation is so top secret that they can't share what it is that they want. They then say suddenly that they have to go and they put the phone down. Initially withheld their number. Very odd behaviour and comes across as rather off balance. This is probably stalking/harassment, but it's to an unknown business.

SCAM – Automated machine will ask you to press 1 to speak to an officer. Then the officer will tell you that your National Insurance Number is being investigated, and they will proceed to suspend it until further investigation occurs. DO NOT reply and REPORT to Action Fraud.
