Subcontinental-sounding told me I needed a box to stop nuisance calls - two pounds fifty a month for three years! Caller Display does it much cheaper and I don t usually answer calls from 0845- numbers. Curious this time.
SPAM Call to my landline @ 10.04 am. Recorded message saying they were calling about a potentially fraudulent £600 charge on my debit card abroad. No mention of bank. Was asked to press 1 to confirm the charge or 2 to speak to an advisor. Hung up.

I was informed by a sythetic female voice that a large amount of money had been taken out of my bank account and that I should contact them by telephone if I had not performed this withdrawal myself. Obvious callback SCAM. This is the third of it's kind that I have received recently but the others came via mobile phone numbers.
SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. Fraud (Call back scam) They hung up as soon as I answered. It's the tedious call back scam where naive people (marks) call back thinking that it's a local/national number when, in fact, the return call is redirected to a premium rate number without the mark's knowledge. Works well with the drunk, those on drugs, the vulnerable and Boris voters.
