This number seems to be used by some call centre - I can see very similar numbers reported, all the same range - 28958324xx - just with last digits different, which is a common thing - they use a range of similar numbers. They are reported with different scope, but mostly call centres work for multiple clients. I got a call from an 01772 (Preston) number and it started reading out a REFERENCE number, so I called back and they were very cagey. Didnt want to tell me what the call was about, tried to get information out of me. She asked me for my phone number and said that I owed ebay £3.60 in fees. I told her, I would pay ebay and not them, they are an unknown and unprofessional company. I recommend that nobody pays them, instead go back to the original company and pay them instead. Very very fishy !!!

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 17928236xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI claims call centre from Swansea, insurance marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...
SCAM / SPAM Called to say my Sky service renewal was out of date. When I told him I don't have cover, he tried to argue that I pay for it by direct debit. Once he realised he wasn't getting anywhere, he decided to hurl flurry of obscenities and abuse at me. I tried to keep him on the phone as long as I could to waste his time but eventually he hung up.
