SCAM - Indian-sounding gentleman. Claimed to be from "Phone House" offering a 40% discount on my mobile package.

claimed to be from the security department (but didn't say of which bank/credit card company) claimed to have identified two probably fraudulent transactions. invited me to press 1 to cancel or 2 to speak to someone. I pressed 2, but the line went dead. Looks to me very much like a scam.

I just had a call from this number too, claiming to be "D M Experts". The person he asked to speak to, Ben , does not exist on my number or at my address and I have been plagued with calls lately from some company claiming to be something to do with the Office of Fair Trading, who also always asks for Ben , but they have the sense to block their number. Company trying to "review" my life insurance. I tried to politely tell him that I was not interested but he wouldn't take no for an answer. Ended up putting the phone down and now blocked. Had a call from similar company a couple of weeks ago too.
I just called this number from my work phone. It is Bradleys Online, the estate agents.
They ring, remain silent and then a computer voice says 'Good bye'. They are harvesting active numbers to sell on.

I am registered on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and the Mailing Preference Service (MPS) but they are breaking the law by ignoring this. They do not with hold their telephone number. rang them on their direct line 01792311578 and they gave me a false 0800 number to complain to. Had a call this morning from a man claiming to work for a company called "First Pass", asking about an RTA I was supposed to have been involved in. I asked how he got my details and requested that they be deleted from their data-base. I have never been in an RTA, and am on TPS to prevent cold-callers. He persisted in trying to obtain more information from me and when I refused to answer, he hung up. If they call again, I shall report them to Ofcom.
I can see why this has received negative feedback, after you get past the first idiot whose only job is to get money no matter what you will get transferred to BT, I made them aware of the situation which will go through to their customer support. Like everything this service is out sourced so treated like debt collectors. Not SCAM, so all ok as of Sept 26th 2016

I have been repeatedly called on my cellphone from this number, no message left at any time. Have ignored because I don t know anyone in Alton, Hampshire. Phoned the number back from a private landline and got a voice mail message saying "the person at extension 251 is unavailable, please leave your name..." etc. Very annonying!
