The call from this number was supposedly from BT saying my landline was to be cut off. I checked with my provider who confirmed this was a scam call as none of my service is from BT. My provider has referred the number to their specialist department for investigation.

This is a company called Business Advisory Services who appear to be a genuine energy broker but they are aggressive and pushy on the phone. They don t really declare that they are a broker and ask for information on your energy bills. Having established they are a broker, I told them we have an energy broker we are very happy with. I ve received 3 calls from these idiots - two I failed to answer but after reading posts on sites like this decided, for my own amusement, to answer on the third call. The chap on the other end rambled on about insurance and said he was from a company called Red Star. When I asked who Red Star were he got quite abrupt/aggressive. Called 1st time left a message with a reference and phone number, number was dead, called the 0845 number and it doesn t receive calls ... next day she called me back and said we spoke last year and she missed my renewal date for energy by a day and hoped this year she hadn t missed it.... 100% lies, I work from home ... complete bull, she was also rude
