Insurance Accident Chasing Telephone Call

"Adam Smith" with an Asian accent tried to scam me about illegal hackers. I strung them along for a while until they hung up

Sending texts every day, to chase a debt that I do not owe. I want to bring harassment charges against them, also I want to arrive to their offices and slice open their throats. Watch this space.

Unsolicited call supposedly from a local company

An Indian man who allegedly would have to query my customer information due to a breakdown wanted to have my name and address. I asked which company he called exactly and he staggered. I immediately hung up and blocked the number.

This number has called a number of times in the last two weeks. When answered, it is an automated voice purporting to be BT, which states that our internet will be disconnected today and offering two return call options which I am fairly sure are cost traps. We don t have BT internet. On hanging up, I called the number back and it rang but was not answered.

Phoned out blue, saying following up a previous enquiry I’d made once about investments. Said not a sales call but called themselves ?BT Marketing? I’m currently looki at investments. So let the call run. Pleasant polite lady. Asked if they could pass my details onto a tech investment firm, to send me more info. I felt extra info may be useful, so gave permission. However, contact info they had for me was a very old email address. She reassured me they would not pass my details to anyone else. (We’ll see).

Definitely a scam. These calls use spoofed numbers but originate outside the UK. The scammers can spoof any number they want. Ignore it or block the number on your phone. Refer ...
