When I dialed the number, it was out of order, so it looks like this call was from an overseas number that was spoofing a UK dial-back number.
Claim to be HM revenue and customs investigating tax fraud, with threat of criminal charges in 45 minutes if you hang up.
Just received a text from this number saying to authorise or not, a new payee re hsbc ... obviously a scam as I don’t deal with hsbc. I ain’t clicking on any links therein . Number now blocked .

Just answered a call from this number and was told they were looking to speak to S MacDonald which is myself. They said they were calling regarding a personal matter on behalf on a mutual client but could not tell me any more information until I confirmed by details. Girl was rude and very blunt on the with her responses. I will not confirm any details unless I know who is calling but she refused to disclose that to me. Hung up
I ve been getting several calls a day not just from this number, but from others, too - or sometimes they come up as "unavailable" or "international". All of them are from people with an Indian accent saying that they are calling to fix a problem with my PC and quickly become very rude when questioned.
