These people obtain, STEAL, your tel. number from your ip address via metadata. Ever come accross annoying adverts when browsing online which doesn t let you close? ie. Engadget, youtube etc... Mine was a survey which popped up whilst online and I had to wait 20secs inorder to dismiss that advert. Enduring the agonising 20 secs. Received a missed call from this number. As it wasn't blocked I returned the call, was put on hold for around 5 mins then cut off. Definitely not a genuine person, probably...

I have contacted BT and they inform me this is a Dummy phone no. There is no charge unless you get connected. This is just a nuisance call. Just hang up or block the call on you...

Clean Green - claim there is an energy survey going on in my road (named it and knew my house number and my name) - I said there is nothing going on in my road. Claimed it was about a change in building regulation sand checking heat loss. I said that is absolute rubbish - she claimed it was not. I suggested she gets a proper job and hung up.

Claiming to be British Gas - hung up as there is no reason that British Gas should be phoning me.

Claimed to be from Telephone Preferance Service but hung up when challenged. Beware.
