I was given this number by a company claiming that I am having financial trouble and that I may have applied for a loan the number of this company is 01279276045, I told them that I didnt have any loans or applied for any and am not in financial trouble they gave me the number 01613517617 when I rang it. Just called me regarding an attempted transaction to John Lewis. Said my account was ‘under attack’ and there had been several suspicious transactions. He said he would escalate my case to Level 3 fraud, set up a new account number and sort code with a random generated name. Phoned Santander fraud department who confirmed my account was safe - the scammer then called me back ‘No Caller ID’! so I told him in no uncertain terms that he was a scamming bastard and he could go forth and multiply.
