I have just been called by this lot tonight and offered a ?2000 rebate as I d paid my council tax on time for several years!!! She asked how I d like to recieve my money and I asked for a cheque which I knew would be legit if she did but she asked me to ring the number and talk to her boss but it had to be immediate. I didnt ring back.

SCAM: same area in Manchester from which several similar phone numbers come from. Only lets your phone ring for a short time and never leave a message. Don't call back unless you are looking for trouble! Thank goodness for answer phones and caller ID.

Various numbers starting with 02394 have called since 29 March 2023 Conversations include: "This is not a Marketing call, blah, blah" "Survey of Loft insulation, blah,blah" "When first caller was asked where speaker was calling from, answer was "The Phillipines"(Sp ?)
