I must have had ten calls this last week from a company calling themselves UK Preference. Today s number used was 01612228888. The voice was an Indian male and was very persistent talking over me when I told him to take me off their calling list and to stop calling me. Typical scammer s call, allegedly from the "technical department of BT Openreach" -- first asking how are you in an Indian accent; when I wanted to know more about him, he cut the line.

Another tele sales call

I don t have any credit cards. It was offering help paying off credit card debt of over 5000 pounds. It was quiet when I first answered then an automated message. No option to remove my number from the dialling list. Added it to my auto reject list instead.

This number called me and it turned out to be Southampton Audi arranging an MOT. It was odd that it showed up as as a Portsmouth area code though, maybe they use a call center now.
