These crooks are called Ascend Finance and are buying local numbers so that you are duped into answering their call. Do not answer and report them to OFCOM.

Number unknown, which I usually ignore but as I m waiting for an overnight package I wondered if it was them calling re delivery, so I answered. It was a female caller with (what sounded like) a Chinese accent. She said she was calling on behalf of Telephone Preference Service. I didn t believe it and hung up - but they have rung another twice since then (4 hours ago.)

Assuming from all the comments on here, it sounds like it is Vodafone trying to get hold of the owner of all new phones to either check the service is ok or to check something else. 3 phone calls in 3 days from this no. Having searched this site and others to read reports of Windows scams etc. I decided to answer this one. An Asian man asked if I was Miss Christine. I said "Who? Who s calling?" He hung up, I didn t for another 3 minutes, so presumably prevented him from bothering someone else. Reporting to ICO.

I have donated to RSPCA for years. Due to the number of calls and actually no message I have just cancelled the DD.

This phone number called my landline at 6:15am on a week day morning. Upon phoning it back it was constantly engaged even though I tried it off and on all day and even before I went to bed it was still engaged.

Received call form this number and called back to see who it was. Apparently it is the company that handles upgrades on behalf of T-Mobile. They had called me in error as I am with O2. No problems when I informed them of this.
