Purported to be Virgin Media reviewing your account to provide the best possible service. They fail on DPA/GDPR as don't seem to understand the principles of validating they are speaking to the account holder. They don't have access to account information such as account numbers, billing area codes etc.

This number called just before 7.00pm saying I owed approx £86 for Amazon. When I redialled the number it said not recognised.

Firstly HMRC will never call you and secondly I am still waiting for the police to show up at my door and arrest me for nothing. Utter nonsense. Don't be fooled by these calls people.

I had this number, and all i do is turn my landline on silent and only use it as a one way call, and if someone gives you a rough time of calling you, you will see the light go on when they are calling or use the landline as a one way, calling out and your mobile to take calls, you can get phones that block numbers, and only let the ones you want through. I Received a call from this number twice today and when i was able to answer they introduced themselves as Consumer helpline, the lady on the call advised that i had overpaid for finance in 2011 and she wished to help me get this refunded however i have never taken anything out on finance. I asked to submit a subject access request under the Data Protection Act where she then passed me to her manager.
