I had this number, and all i do is turn my landline on silent and only use it as a one way call, and if someone gives you a rough time of calling you, you will see the light go on when they are calling or use the landline as a one way, calling out and your mobile to take calls, you can get phones that block numbers, and only let the ones you want through. Sent text message to my mobile claiming to be from BT - then asked name and BT number. I refused further information on the grounds that BT already have my address and was given some unbelievable story about my mobile number having come up in some other context. This number called and auto voice informing to be Daniel from Amazon Customer services saying a big order been placed worth over £1400 and asking to press 1 to talk and press 2 to report fraud. don't know what suspicious activity was that and by looking at my account found nothing such. Got several calls from this number today and yesterday - a new one not listed on this or any other phone spam-buster sites I checked. In the end, curiosity got the better of me just in case it was genuine and I phoned it from my Skype account. It didn t connect - but it did take ?2 (yes TWO POUNDS) off my Skype credit.
I believe this is a scam using the HMRC as a disguise
