Randomly called said she was from sky and said our internet is slow. Tried to get us to download and app called quick support. This app allows people to remotely access your phone. Very dangerous as the can get so many details this way. We questioned her and she hung up. Called back and metro express answered, Im guessing this number is used for numerous amounts of scams. Txt message saying from British gas asking for meter reads. Not sure if it's a scam but safer to log onto your British gas account and submit your meter reads there. Normally companies like this would not use a mobile number and it would show as British gas and not the actual number

Called from Citizens advice group. I questioned the male caller with a south Asian accent in some detail. He was very helpful. They were calling about debts and he asked what debts we had. I asked him where they got our number and he replied FCA ????????????. I then asked him for the person or department name as I have previously worked with FCA in the past, he didn’t give it to me. He was very polite and said he couldn’t continue. He also said they weren’t authorised in the UK!

I was called from this number allegedly 'Virgin media' did not trust the caller so dialed it back to find out it was a residential number whose number had been scammed. On calling Virgin and my bank fortunately they never got anything. Just hang up and block number.

This is a suspected nuisance call. On picking up there was a recorded message asking for verification details. I immediately put the phone down. I have had a couple of calls from another Bridgend number in the last few weeks. 01656 723940 seems to belongs to a Mr Steven Walters of Dennis Place, Bryncethin, Bridgend. If so he needs to know it is illegal to call anyone who is TPS registered.

I was called yesterday from this phone number. I answered, and right away, a robot with female voice started to say something about HMRC, penalty, and I remembered that I saw some reviews from another phone numbers saying about this kind of calls, pretended to be from HMRC. So, after 16 seconds, I hung up. Be careful, this is another spam!!

Silent call - rang early morni9ng and when I picked up there was no voice, nothing. I said hello, but there was no reply - said it again and then the line went dead. Few people use our landline these days, and only numbers we recognise (family and friends) so I suspect this was spam.

Called on 14/4/2023 16.10 sating his name was "David" from o2. Didnt ask any security questions or call me by my name. Said that there is a promotion on my monthly bill and at which point i told him to never contact me, stop scamming other people and politely told him to go f*** himself and hung up
HMRC is aware of an automated phone call scam which will tell you HMRC is filing a lawsuit against you, and to press 1 to speak to a caseworker to make a payment. We can confirm this is a scam and you should end the call immediately. This scam has been widely reported and often targets elderly and vulnerable people
