My wife gave me a look of surprise today. We had just finished scanning a forty page service manual for a customer who wanted a printed copy posting. Is was getting near the cut off time for the post office, and the laser printer had decided that its drum was reaching the end of its life leavening splodges on the pages. Rang twice and hung up. I saw it was a premium number so did not answer. The best way to notice a scam call is when the caller asks for you by surname (which they cannot pronounce) probably because the forename is not mentioned in the records as they see them. Then scammers ALWAYS ask how you are, which is often when they try pulling up more details from the records.

An automated call that said it was from the warrants and fraud department. That I was being arrested for fraud if I didn’t press contact the dept by pressing 1. Definitely a spam but some vulnerable people would panic

18 Oct 2021 - Scam. They ask you to press 1 to get in contact with "an officer" on threat of NIN suspenion. I after getting called 2nd time I did press that 1, waited for about a minute, and got some dude reading out a script. He hung up when I asked why are they calling me xDReply

Calls are at least - being stopped by Call Guardian which is built into the phone. So, the phone rings once, the Guardian kicks in and asks for the caller s identity. However, since this has never been given (and any such call is then terminated by Guardian), we assume they coming from an automated system. We just wish the system would give up on us!

SCAM Caller said that they were from Microsoft and they could see that, every time I browsed the internet, malicious software was being downloaded. I asked what name that had for me which turned out to not be mine anyway. I told her I knew it was a scam and rang off
On answering the caller rang off. I suppose this in the hope that I would ring back. Of course I never would.

On 15-02-2023 I was called, on my mobile by this (London) land line number. 020 45689768. When I replied the call got cut…. Called the number back and was connected to a voice message… Did not get the name of caller, so I called again…., but the same happened and the name pronounced was not clear to me…. It then offers 2 options to press a 2 or a 9 (the last one to ask them not to phone again…..) Obviously I did no such thing, as I “smelled a rat” . . . . . Simply blocked the number in my phone
