They just phoned my elderly father-in-law on his land line and luckily my husband had just arrived at the house when they phoned. They told him that they were the National Crime Agency and that there had been fraud on his bank account. was called, supposedly, from HMRC and that I am about being accused for tax fraud and to press 1 to talk to an agent, otherwise I'd be arrested. Upon pressing 1 it directed me to a call centre where the accent of the recorded voice switched from British to American. Hung up right away
Recorded English voice telling me that "according to their records" I had a previous accident claim or medical malpractice claim etc. I pressed no buttons and hung up. We re on TPS but this company clearly ignores that. Will report to ICO.
