The exact number was 01340 831714. After searching it here, I called the number back. It has a BT call screener on it. A Scottish sounding older lady picked up the phone. I told her my name and said I'd had a missed call from her number at 7:47am this morning (3-3-23). Her reply? "No, not me, no you haven't" and then she put the phone down. Received texts saying an engineer was coming to install broadband, had no idea what was going on. Had text from Royal Mail saying they had delivered equipment. Then had an engineer text to say he was coming! Found out he was going to a different address. Possibly a genuine error? Nothing bad has happened but annoying.

Just another poor sod sitting in a cramped call-centre on minimum wage wanting to know if I d ever had PPI. I let the young lady drone on for a bit, dangling the carrot of a sale in front of her, lulling her into a false sense of hope, before hanging up. Nothing personal, love; I hope you find a proper job one day. Had a call from this number earlier today claiming to be Amazon security. Said that I had an order for over £300 on hold and did I want to cancel this, if so give them my mobile number so that they could reimburse my account. Told them that there was no such order and that I would check with Amazon myself and that I believed that they were scammers at which point they terminated the call. Did the check, nothing untoward on my account. Will report this to Amazon.

We always let numbers like this go to answerphone. They always hang-up without a message. Calling several times a day at present - at least they don t hide the phone number. At least they could state their name and purpose, you say it is TalkTalk Marketing. I decide if I want to buy anything and try to avoid these types of call.
