The text message related to card transactions that were made including a cash point withdrawl from within the branch on the day before. On the basis that I have no on-line or telephone banking, the knowledge of the transactions made , could only have come from within the Bank it's self via a genuine source or if RBS had a systems security breach(unlikely). Usual computerised female voice purporting to be calling from "Internet Service Provider" telling me my IP has been compromised. Utter rot! I get at least one of these calls every day, each time apparently from a different number. However, this is the first time it's registered as a local (Bristol) number. High time our telephone service providers found a way of universally barring calls that use a fake number to bypass the Unidentified Number barring.

This is a company called Secure Homecare Ltd, trading as 247 Assist. They purport to provide homecare services such as pendant alarms etc. Once they have an elderly persons phone number they ring regularly, approxiately once every 2 months and sell a further item - usually in the region of about £135- £150.00. We were able to obtain a refund for the last one sold completely unecessarily to my mother - it took about a month to get a refund. We asked them to ensure that they removed details from their databas
