automated message saying it was HMRC re a tax fraud... scam??

This appears to be a scam to obtain credit card details for illegal purposes. We called the number and was immediately asked for our credit card number, but NOT WHICH CREDIT CARD NUMBER, which raises concern over legitimacy, as we have several cards, so which one would we use?

Rang twice today . First time I didn`t answer as I didn`t recognise the number. Second time picked up phone but didn`t say anything and they rang off.

I was interrupted by the same people calling again with their recorded message, telling me someone was waiting to speak to me. They can carry on waiting. After identifying this as another nuisance call - the second today - I hung up.

These calls are driving me mad. Every day and sometimes more than once a day I m getting these unsolicited calls. I can t even be rude to an automated caller! Number not recognised when try to return call to request they stop. This is harassment.

I don t answer calls from unknown numbers, but look them up on the Internet. Having read other people s comments I m pleased I didn t answer. Thank you all for your comments. They really helped.

Almost certainly a scammer. These calls use spoofed numbers and originate outside the UK. The scammers can spoof any number they want. Block the number if you have the facility.

Call from this number at 12.31 today (5/10) asking for me by my full name and caller claimed to be Michael from; - ?something or other (couldn t make out what he was saying) Investigations addressing me by my full name and wanted my future pension plan details. I politely declined after explaining I was in fact with the Government and had no need for further pension advice . He then accused me of lying to him! I had been receiving from this "Choose Lifestyle" too for last few days. Then I contacted my mobile provider. They suggested to call TPS: 0845 0700 707 or go to their website on tpsonline.org.uk and register to block any call-calls. I hope that will be helpful.

Calls several times a day up to 9.30 pm incl. weekends. Answered once by mistake and a woman asked for my wife as she had spoken to her before. When told not married the woman hung up. Absolute nuisance calling so many times.

I keep getting these messages off this number! They ring up late and don't speak

I was called on my mobile by someone trying to tell me that my sister (I have power of attorney) owed 53.23 to BT but if I paid the full amount by card, then she would have her line restricted and avoid further charges of 18.00 for re-connection. They were really pushy that I make a payment but I thought something was off and wouldn t give any details at all!

Nuisance caller. When told that we are not interested and don t want them to call again the response from Nicole was "tell the decision maker to ring me to tell me that. We can t accept that instruction from anyone else". When advised that the decision maker has no intention of speaking to them, they "threaten" to call again in 2 weeks time if they haven t heard from us. They don t accept that anyone has a right not to take their call.
