It was a woman who said she was from microsoft and that my pc had been sending them reports it had been hacked. The pc hasn't been on for weeks and microsoft software doesn't send these reports. This is a scam to get them access to your computer. Do not give them any personal information.

This number has rung a few times but now gets intercepted by our BT Call Blocker phone. (There is a momentary beep, then a pause whilst the caller is asked by an automated message to state their name which is then recorded. SCAM. Knew that I lived outside the UK, had my name and had my foreign mobile number. Called to say that they were helping Brits who lived outside the UK who may have been mis-sold financial products. I told them my partner worked for the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and the guy laughed and said "ah, probably not for you then". Polite enough but clearly the new type of "have you been mis-sold PPI" calls. Potentially a scam.
