Call centre, claiming to be the Technical Department @ Virgin Media, wishing to discuss my internet access. I told her my number is registered with TPS and requested that all of my details are immediately removed from their database. She hung up without confirming whether she had complied. Strangely, her telephone number seems to be a landline in Germany and she is calling a UK mobile number. As I am not a Virgin Media customer, this is most likely a scam.
They have rang me several times asking about life insurance. My view is that if you have enquired previously about what they are trying to sell then fair enough. But if it us completely random then dont trust them.

SCAM: same old area in Manchester calling for a few seconds and then closeing it and leaving no message. It is a clear pattern to tell you they are up to no good.

Called but when I answered the line was silent, even tried to speak to trigger the connection but the line disconnected
Had a call from this number, identified itself as Humberside Police to my call barring service but then cut off when I tried to answer. Line went dead when tried to recall. Called police, they had no record of anyone trying to ring my number nor did they recognise this 56677 number. I blocked this number and a very similar number (one digit different) after calls from both numbers to my mother. Both callers claimed to be from Clearwater Home Services, calling about the "nuisance calls to your account". A quick search showed a company of this name in the US. Mum doesn't have an account with an organisation of this name. I am guessing that these were amongst a long line of scam calls, claiming Mum has an account that needs to be renewed, card details verified etc.,
