Got a call from this number telling me I had to register my electricity meter. When I asked why, I was told it was because I had recently moved in. Again, I asked why I should need to register my meter and at this point the caller just hung up. Sounds very much like a scam of some sort.

I work on reception for a home improvements company. The Asian woman called on Thursday 14.6.2018 @ around 10.15am Number was withheld, and said that she was from BT and that we have reported problems with our internet connection with them. I was called by this number this morning. They told me they were calling regarding my licence from MICROSOFT being lapsed. They told me they would be able to renew my licence and could show me how to remove hackers from my laptop. I allowed these people access to my laptop thinking I was removing the hackers and viruses from the laptop. They gained access to my files and I have had money removed from my bank account (now closed).
