They called and said it was a confidential matter and wanted my details so I asked for the companies name but refused to give it as this would prejudice the situation so I advise that their is no provision within the DPA 1988 which states that they are not allowed to disclosed their details prior to me disclosing mine.

SCAM/SPAM. I was called on the 26/08/20 by this number. The caller said they were from SKY (my TV, telephone and broadband provider). He informed me that he was ringing to test my modem and improve its performance. He asked me to type a few commands which included the word “SKY”. He then asked me to permit remote access. SCAM Didn't actually receive a call, but an advertising card popped through my door today offering part-time work delivering leaflets. Good money paid, apparently. The email address shown was 'bakoos.in' suggesting that it was based in India, however it appears to be a Russian phone number! The Royal Mail's website cannot find any reference to the phone number, so to my mind it is a serious attempt at a scam and is best avoided.

ALLAY CLAIMS - right lot of fraudulent bast**ds, scammers, thieves & extortionists. Look them up on www.trustpilot.com as well as lots of other websites. They forge signatures on documents and then try to extort money claiming the signed document is original. Best bet is put in complaints to all the toothless regulators and hope enough others do the same and maybe someone will take them off the financial systems. Maybe time for lighting the blue touchpaper.....!!!!!
My mother-in-law has just found a charge for ?99.99 on her Barclays statement. I ve just spoken to the bank and they have been 100% helpful and have agreed to refund her ASAP. When mum-in-law initialy went into the bank to query the transaction they told her that it was a holiday company and assisted her to call them. The company told her that they take the view that unless you specifically say otherwise they assume that you want thier services, even though the in-laws had no knowledge of the company. T
