This number called me and it turned out to be Southampton Audi arranging an MOT. It was odd that it showed up as as a Portsmouth area code though, maybe they use a call center now.

SCAM - phoned with recorded message about my NI being used fraudulently, then please hold for an officer.....then a foreign man answered said he is from the national fraud division...after me asking him a couple of pinpoint questions he hung up. Turns out the number is a vodafone mobile number.

Number called our business in Peterborough UK at 09:59 this morning. Follows the pattern of numerous calls we have had recently. We answered, but did not speak. The caller was on automated response waiting a voice from our end and when none was given the line was cut from the other end. Who Called Me indicates the call came from the Russian Federation Mordovia region and was therefore similar to one last week we had from Russian Federation Penza region. Map now shows this was Russian Trade Delegation in UK.
Received a text message from this number at 22.54!! Offering to turn my car into cash (they ll be lucky, it s only worth about ?50!). Fraud. Says they are M&S bank and your card is compromised. Try to get you to click links to “cancel” payments, but what you are really doing is authorising cryptocurrency payments. Very clever. Phone looks like an old M&S helpline number.

Caller initially claimed to be calling from the University of Sussex, asking me to undertake an online research survey. Then they wanted our email address, and I enquired why was that necessary if the survey was online - all they needed to do was provide me with the web address. The caller later later confirmed they were an independent market research company , and continued to ask for my email address. Of course, I never provided it.
