Nuisance caller. We have up to 5 calls a day from this number with a pre-recorded voice saying they have urgent information for us at which point we put the phone down.

This number is one of a group that has recently called me and appeared to be a scam of some sort. I answered and waited before speaking any, and after three seconds they hung up. When I answered there was a short delay then obviously a busy call centre with numnerous conversations taking place. The caller had a very strong Indian accent and it was impossible to understand what she was saying, not helped by the background noise. Typical of many other scam phone calls. I left the phone on but ignored the conversation until the caller closed the line.

Got a call today from some guy asking for me by name (which I didn t acknowledge - I never do.) I immediately asked who was calling to throw him off his spiel, unfortunately he mumbled his "company" which sounded like s&l legal? and immediately launched into his sales patter regarding the mis-selling of PPI. I let him ramble on for a few then interrupted him by saying I worked in the banking industry and could run rings round him with regards this. Very aggressive scam caller pretending to be from BT reporting a virus on our PC and wanting us to follow their instructions online to fix it. Clearly a scam but became very threatening when we wouldn’t do what they wanted us to. Phoned back several times and left aggressive messages on answer phone.

These people handle "deceased accounts" on behalf of Eon in UK. (I suspect they buy the debt). They also seem very interested in probate matters - perhaps they gain extra business this way. However - was pleasant call (got my number from Eon - I am Mum s executor), and they were not chasing payment just establishing status.
