Picked up the phone and it was silent so I ended the call. A little later the same number called again and I let it go to answer phone and no message was left.

Criminals make up these numbers - all fake and nearly always different - to call me to try to persuade me to fall for their story that there is something wrong with my computer or internet connection. Called yesterday 19Aug by a women with a very strong Asian accent. She wanted me to turn on my computer as BT had requested her to help me with my router, that was showing a fault, and she could talk me through the repair. I asked her to call back in half an hour as I was busy. I then checked the number that she had called on and it was not recognised. Contacted BT and they confirmed that this was a scam.that

Very bubbly sounding lady called Leslie, on a terrible line, called from this number. Claimed to be from some kind of insurance company, said the information had come from the "Road Traffic Accident Commission" or similar. Apparently I was in an accident that wasn t my fault. After asking her to repeat her company name, and pointing out that I hadn t had an accident, she hung up on me.
