how can i block a telephone number from calling me

Rang at lunchtime on two successive days (15 and 16 DEC 15) but did not leave message. Suspicious because of previous calls from 03300 numbers.
Suspect scammers and unsolicited cold silent call. We never do business with any cold callers.

Indian call centre. Will try and persuade you to open windows event viewer and tell you the warnings in there are the result of being hacked.

The company is known as go4ukloans , they call you to tell you that you have been approved for loan that does not exist as they are not loan company but bunch of people who scam people to take money of them. They will ask you to make the first payment of your loan for the loan to be sent in your bank. Don t believe them. Don t send them any money !!

Got a call from this number said they were from Talk Talk........I realised it was a scam so when I said that I didn't actually have a pc or laptop and that it was at work she told me to go to hell !!
Also, I just tried phoning the number back and it doesn't even exist - so somehow the scammer is making out that they are phoning from a local number to look more legit.

I received a call from this number just now. He said he was from a company called Technical Help Service and told me my computer had a virus. He tried to convince me using various methods including running the eventvwr (the errors listed there are not related to viruses!) This is identical to the well known Windows Technical Helpdesk scam. No bank name was given. apparently there were two transactions going through on my card, one for Amazon and another larger sum was an international money transfer. Very fishy number. They called me but the person on the phone was a recorded message telling me to call them back. It also said if I disregarded the message I could face legal consequences. Surely, if it was that serious, a real person would be talking to me and not some recorded message. Based on the other review of that number, I won’t be called back.

This number keeps calling me to ask for a previous owner. Every time they call they say they have never called before. I have asked to be removed from their list but they refuse and their call operators are very rude. Has anyone else had a similar thing from this number and do you know which company they are from?
